Octo-mom at iFly Hollywood

"As if eight infants weren't enough of a rush, RadarOnline.com got to ride along with thrill-seeking Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman on Friday, were she received a wind tunnel experience.

Suleman, along with children Amerah, Elijah and JJ, hit I Fly Hollywood at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, where the family showed to watch mom take flight."

“How it was Captured”

The last Parachutist featured an article about a picture I took that left a lot of people wondering how i took it.

Below is the image; next to it the text for the article

"The picture was taken with a Canon EOS XTi set at 18 mm. It depicts Brianne Thompson diving after a 10-way speed star over Skydive Elsinore. I took the shot during the day on shutter-speed priority 1/800 and ISO 400 (film speed) for a better depth of field.

Using slow shutter speeds, such as 30 seconds or more, you can take great photographs of the night sky. However, this technique will not work so well if you are trying to capture an active subject.

I was looking forward to taking pictures during some night jumps, but unfortunately they were cancelled due to weather. So, I decided to create the image I had in mind using Adobe Photoshop.

I was able to create the image below by combining two separate images: One of the active skydive and the other I took of the night sky. First I cut Brianne from the foreground and motion-blurred the background. After that I laid the picture of the night sky on top of the blurred image and tinted it green. I then reinserted Brianne and tinted her black. This gave the illusion of the light reflecting off of her to be moon light instead of sunlight. Last but not least, I added the red light on the bottom of the otter to make it more realistic."
